Victor Correa

After a brief stay at “Conservatorium” I studied improvisation and big-band with Bob Sands, drums with Yayo Morales and piano with Tony Heymer and Adolfo Delgado at the”Creative Music School” in Madrid.
I also took composition and arranging lessons with Miguel Blanco.
I moved to Barcelona where I got my jazz trombone degree in ESMUC, where I studied with Gorka Benitz, Raúl García (Bass trombone), Joan Monne, Eladio Rainon, Mathew Simon, Lluis Vidal among others.
Duirng this period of time I assisted to several masterclasses with musicians as Juan Mungia, Leon Parker, Perico Sambeat, Phill Woods, Paquito de Rivera, Adrian Mears, Chris Cheek, Slide Hampton, Chris Kase, Leon Parker, Miguel Rivera, Conrad Herwig, Joseph Alessi, Michel Becquet, Hein Van de Gein, Miguel Zenón, Bruce Barth, etc.
I obtained a Catalan Goverment grant to study for three months in New York , where I attended regulary to Luis Bonilla’s classes and once to Jeff Ballard’s and Hal Crook’s.
By means of ERASMUS program I spent one year in Rotterdam where I studied trombone with Ilja Reijngoud and Bart Van Lier, and composition with Paul Van Brugge.
Back to Spain, I am currently hired in Liceu Conservatorio as Jazz trombone teacher.
My main instrument is the tenor trombone but I also play bass trombone, a little piano and i am beguining with tuba.
